January 1, 2012
We wish to thank very warmly indeed the following people and organisations who generously raised funds for the The Helen Foundation in the lead-up to Christmas…
Teignmouth Estuary Rotary Club
Teignmouth Estuary Rotary Club president Brian Moreton has not only nominated The Helen Foundation as his President’s Charity of the Year but with fellow Rotarians helped raise £500 in Teignmouth from bucket collections, Name the Teddy and Santa’s Grotto.
Planned as an outdoor carol singing occasion on Shaldon Green, the wind and the wet drove the event into St Peter’s Church where over 100 young and old gathered to enjoy the singing. Volunteers had generously given their time to re-arrange the church seating and decorate the church to help create a lovely atmosphere that was truly appreciated by all who attended. The event raised £93. Thank you!
Kerswell Ladies Choir
This fine choir nominated The Helen Foundation to benefit from their Christmas concert in St Mary’s, Kingskerswell and the generous congregation donated £350 to the charity. It was a lovely event!
THF Christmas Cards
Thank you everyone who bought cards (and said such nice things about them). Altogether, sales made a profit of over £400. Thanks and congratulations once again to Kyle Blackmore and Livvy Tutty for their prize-winning designs of these cards.
Livvy Fundraises – Twice!
10 year old Livvy Tutty not only designed one of our Christmas cards but went carol singing with friends and raised a further £50! Thank you, Livvy!
Shaldon School Carol Concert and Staff Card Donation
A remarkable £400 was raised from the retiring collection at Shaldon School’s carol concerts and the donation of staff in lieu of sending Christmas cards. Thank you all so much. That was a brilliant amount to receive!
Charlie’s Costume Karaoke
Leading local karaoke singer Charlie Cook raised £100 recently from special costume karaoke pub evenings at the Endeavor and the Brass Monkey in Teignmouth. Thank you Charlie and thanks to the two hosting pubs!
A friend of the Foundation, Tanja Lohmaier, won a competition when she was supporting the charity event Movember, to nominate a second charity to receive £100 – and she chose The Helen Foundation. Thank you Tanja!
The Chudlians and The Welcome Family Holiday Park
Newton Abbot-based fundraising group the Chudlians worked throughout the 2011 holiday season alongside fund-raisers at the Welcome Family Holiday Park at Dawlish Warren and together they raised an incredible £2,425 – simply outstanding! Thank you everyone involved.
…and finally, HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BEST WISHES FOR 2012!
We wish all The Helen Foundation’s friends and supporters a very Happy New Year as we look forward to a successful 2012 for the charity.
With best wishes from The Trustees of the The Helen Foundation: Alex, Annie, Ben, Leon, Roger and Tom
