What a superb evening!
Dawlish Community College hosted a food and jazz night recently to raise funds for The Helen Foundation. With a menu inspired by the Deep South of the USA, the delicious three-course meal was prepared and served by students from the Design and Technology Faculty. Students had also designed and made their own waiter uniforms and created original T-shirts inspired by The Helen Foundation. These shirts we auctioned during the evening and with a well-supported raffle, added extra funds to the evening’s takings.
Entertainment came from the Expressive Arts Faculty led by the Music Department under Director of Music, Jon Waterworth. Traditional jazz was the flavour of the evening played to a very high standard by the college jazz band with several numbers beautifully interpreted by dancers. Singers too played their part in an evening full of delight.
The Helen Foundation is very grateful for the staff and students at the college who worked so closely together to make such a successful event that raised over £400 for the charity.
Thank you so much!
