Sculptor Anne-Marie Moss held a two-day sculpture workshop with Year 10 GCSE Art students supported by funding from THF. Students had been studying the human form as the inspiration for their sculptures and first were introduced to sculpting skills by shaping blocks of soap then they moved on to thermalite blocks. Thinking and working in 3D and tackling sculpture with this material for the first time is really demanding!
Student feedback was very positive.
“The workshop was really good because we wouldn’t usually get the opportunity to work with such materials and I also found that having a full day was very useful because it meant we had plenty of time to relax with our work which in return produced a better quality final piece.”
