Summer brings a number of Helen Foundation Award presentations and here we can feature but a sample. Arts Mark Gold Award achieving Newton Abbot College holds a special arts award evening every summer and this year it took place in the prestigious International Riviera Centre in Torquay. With an audience of over 400, the outstanding range of creative arts at Newton Abbot College were showcased. Dance, drama, music, art and photography were all featured and multiple awards presented, including The Helen Foundation Award.
The Helen Foundation Award presented this year at NAC went to Eleanor Skinner for her outstanding contribution to the arts life of Newton Abbot College. Annie and Roger Kirk were very proud to present the award to Ellie whose citation reads:
“Eleanor has won the award for her supreme quality work in Drama and Performing Arts.
“She is a very worthy recipient of this highly prestigious Arts award and we would like to celebrate Eleanor’s significant contribution to Newton Abbot College by acknowledging her creative achievements and artistic triumphs and wish her many more successes – of which we do not doubt there will be many.”
Proud Mum Michelle says: “The THF trophy has pride of place in the front of Eleanor’s dance trophies.”
“Caitlin is an accomplished dancer and singer who has performed as a soloist at Powderham Castle and also as part of a band. She has also performed at concerts supporting the Helen Foundation and has taken part in gigs as far as Bristol. She always strives to perform to the best of her abilities and her presence on stage is absolutely captivating.
“Even though she is so talented, she never takes herself too seriously. Caitlin is always ready to do something fun, and seems to relish every opportunity she gets to perform. She eventually wants to go to the Hammond School to study dance and Musical Theatre.”
