Bovey Tracey Primary School was the setting for a charity event recently after the school had raised money for The Helen Foundation. At the end of last term, Year 5 and 6 children had taken part in a production of Pirates of the Curry Bean to which they invited their parents and friends. At the end of each of the four performances, a collection was made for both The Helen Foundation and PTA funds.
Headteacher Louise Prywata invited trustees of the charity to give an assembly about The Helen Foundation. Following the assembly, Year 5 pupil Mia Clewer presented £110 to Roger Kirk, Chairman of the Foundation. Mia was chosen for the role because of her outstanding acting talents. In March, she had performed in the Northcott Theatre as the little daughter in The Herbal Bed production which enjoyed a very successful run.
“Bovey Primary has regularly benefited from subsidies from The Helen Foundation to help it run exciting arts projects at the school and we are delighted to accept this donation to assist with the Foundation’s work.
