Former Helen Bursary winner Millie Kelly Powers On

May 8, 2017

Millie is a rising star in the London art world. A former THF bursary holder, Millie won the Clyde and Co Art Award as among the best graduates from the London Art Schools in 2016 (Millie studied at Wimbledon College of Art).  This spring, The Saachi Gallery in the Oxo Tower featured Millie’s work in a five year retrospective of exceptional Clyde and Co Award winners where she sold 3 paintings in just one month.  See just some of Millie’s current work by clicking here.

Millie writes: “I’m also working 4 days a week for an artist, Henry Hudson, which involves spending 9 hours a day making intricate, whacky paintings from plasticine! You should give him a google because the work is pretty epic! I’m learning a lot about how these professional studios work and being challenged creatively on a day to day basis makes it a very rewarding for a day job! The plasticine comes in batches (from Newton Abbot would you believe it!) and then we mix it ourselves with high intensity pigment in a special plasticine mixing machine to create those amazing neons.”

We wish Millie every success with her already burgeoning career.  So proud of you Millie!
