Grade 5 for Shannon

January 20, 2015

fd0de38c-8ae4-449e-b30e-cc797c64327eTHF Trustees were delighted to hear that Shannon Moxey, a student at JJ’s Music School, Newton Abbot, recently achieved her Grade 5. JJ’s Director Joanna Walling writes:

Shannon has recently been awarded 90% Distinction for her Grade Five Singing with Rockschool.  I am so proud of her and she deserved such a high mark. Despite being a Young Carer, Shannon makes the time to practice singing and she works very hard. Her voice has become so rich and we are so proud of her progress, that we have offered her the role of singer in our Advanced Rockband project. Her voice suits the repertoire of Sarah Vaughan and now that her vocal technique has been worked on, her innate musicality is coming through and she is wonderful to watch and listen to.

I can’t thank the Helen Foundation enough for supporting her lessons. Sharing her journey has been enriching for me as her teacher. She is taking her Grade 6 in April, and this will be earning valuable UCAS points towards her University applications.

A sincere thank you to the Trustees

Really well done, Shannon! So proud of you!
