Helen Foundation Awards

September 13, 2015

Summer brings a number of THF Awards in schools where staff annually choose the young person who has shown, in their view,  “best endeavour in the Arts” in their school or college. We have space to highlight just two this month:

Shaldon

thf-chudleighYear 6 teacher Janet Gorge writes:
“Shaldon School were delighted to present the Helen Foundation Award to local girl, Evelyn Ashton, this year for her evident musical talents, creative talents and literary talents.

Evelyn is a girl with a great understanding of the nuance of language – loving its depths and meanings, choosing language to whet the appetite and delight the imagination as she takes the reader on the most magical roller coaster ride – an emotional journey joy, laughter, pain, sorrow, thrills and spills as only the very best writers can. She is on a literary quest!”

Congratulations, Evelyn!

Chudleigh Knighton

thf-bethany-2Head of Teaching and Learning Jackie Huntingdon writes:

“Bethany Bartlett has appeared at The Alexandra Theatre twice in the Newton Abbot pantomime amongst other productions and has had recent lead roles in The Nutcracker with her dance school.

She has competed in many dance festivals across the region, doing very well earlier this year in Exeter where she came 3rd in her ballet category, which enabled her to compete in the ballet championships.

She came 4th in the ’12 years and under’, enabling her to dance at the ‘All England South Western Finals’.

Congratulations, Bethany!
