BAFTA Award Winner, Paul Mayhew-Archer, co-writer of BBC comedy series The Vicar of Dibley and script editor for Mrs Brown’s Boys returned to Teignmouth to present a Part 2 evening about his life in comedy at the BBC. Paul included insights into working on Mrs Brown’s Boys, and working with Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench on the highly successful Esio Trot. But the special new twist was Paul’s take on living with Parkinson’s, with which he was diagnosed four years ago.
Paul recently presented a highly successful and much-praised BBC documentary about the latest approaches to Parkinson’s, introducing the public, with his trade-mark off-beat humour, to a subject that many know very little about.
Laughter Matters was a superb evening of laugh-out-loud humour in the presence of someone with enormous comic talents. What a talent!
The evening raised nearly £650 for THF. The special raffle for Parkinson’s UK raised £150 that Paul then matched to benefit THF equally.
Thank you so much Paul for a truly memorable evening
