Respected artist Monica Shanta Brown visited Blackpool Primary School in the Newton Abbot grouping of schools, funded by Helen Foundation to show 90 youngsters some Indian art techniques in their multicultural week of arts activities.
The children worked hard to produce perfect Rangoli designs some 5 ft square, using rainbow colours of dyed rice as materials this time. Remember seeing other THF workshops featuring lentils, seeds, flower heads, beads and dried fruits?
That was also a form of Rangoli. Worth googling it online to see what fun can be had. And then, swept away: ephemeral art!!
WELL DONE Blackpool Primary School, South Devon, and thank you for inviting us!
In the same week it was the turn of older Blackpool students with GREAT professional Dance workshop (funded again so often by Helen Foundation monies raised by local schools choosing THF as their special charity, and holding fundraising events to keep THF a happening thing.)
