Supported by funding from THF, Year 12 students from the Art & Design department at South Dartmoor Community College and Atrium Studio School worked with professional screen printer Phil Summerscale during a project which prepared them to run their own commercial stand selling their T-shirt designs and running workshops for children who would like to learn more about the screen printing process.
Students were rushed off their feet over the weekend of the Fair running the workshops and teaching others the skill of silk screen printing using professional methods. Happy customers were able to purchase T-shirts with their own designs printed on.
An atmosphere of industry and wonder was evident, and the rain certainly did not dampen anyone’s spirits.
