Early in the establishment of The Helen Foundation, Floella Benjamin very kindly agreed to be an Honorary Patron of the charity. Helen loved Floella - her favourite actor and presenter on TV - and when we approached Floella asking for her support, she couldn't have been more supportive. Recently, BAFTA announced that Baroness Floella Benjamin OM, DBE, DL will be presented with the BAFTA Fellowship at the forthcoming BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises on Sunday 12 May.
The BAFTA Fellowship is the highest accolade bestowed by BAFTA upon an individual in recognition of an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television. Helen would have been so thrilled to see her heroine so honoured!
