Warmest congratulations to Floella Benjamin who recently received the singular honour of being appointed to The Order of Merit, following her nomination by Queen Elizabeth II.
The award, which is in the sole gift of the sovereign, was bestowed on Floella for her outstanding contributions to the UK’s cultural life over many decades. With just 24 permanent members, the Order of Merit is one of the UK's most prestigious bodies. The honour was presented to Floella by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. Floella is one of the first Black women to be inducted into the Order of Merit.

And equally hearty congratulations to MUSE, who triumphed at the MTV Europe awards.The band took home the Best Rock Act award and dedicated their album to people in Ukraine and Iran at the awards event which took place in Düsseldorf, Germany.
