And it’s the joy of taking part in live theatre that was very much in evidence recently at Teignmouth Community School, which Helen attended and where her love of theatre was further fostered. Recently, they staged Matilda The Musical. It was a real treat to see the large cast of young people acting, singing and dancing, supported by other students very busy with an ever-changing set.
It was such a joyful and exuberant performance! A huge well done to Artistic Director Graeme Mearns, Musical Director Jonathan Waterworth, and Choreographer Carmen Tyler.
The opportunity of participating in such artistic experiences is at the heart of what the charity is able to encourage through its subsidy scheme for local schools. Engagement in these kinds of events is truly memorable for the participants, and for some, like Helen, life-changing.
