Haytor View is a school recognised as facing significant challenges in relation to social and economic deprivation over time. For some years, Haytor have secured an annual grant from Torbay Music Festival to support the individual experiences of 8 children from across Key Stage 2 through music. Haytor needed further support, owing to a change of teaching arrangements, and THF trustees agreed to help. The focus of the teacher's work is to create an environment that enabled a sense of growth, care, relational responses and the broader development that engagement with music brings, whether based around piano, guitar, uke, or singing.
