The Chicken that laid the Golden Egg

You should see the chicken that laid the egg....!! Weighing in at over 12lb of gorgeous Belgian chocolate, this Easter Egg creation by the renowned Teignmouth patisserie Luders, dominated the bar at The Boathouse Inn, Dawlish Warren over the Easter holidays.

Generous owners, Nigel and Jayne Cousens, donated the giant egg as the raffle prize in their Easter raffle, raising £161.50 for THF. We are really grateful for the support.

Pictured on the left is the egg with The Boathouse Manager Sally Carr.

Pictured below are Helen’s brother (and THF trustee) Alex, with his boys Billy 7 and Oliver 3, who busily drew out the winning ticket.

The winner - Jessica from Surrey - then generously donated the chocolate egg to another local charity, The Dawlish Warren Lifesaving Club, whose fortunate youngsters will demolish it when the club re-opens soon for the season!
