For the sixth year in a row, some of the fantastic Foundation supporters took part in a 10k run to raise funds for the charity. Run over part of the London 2012 Olympics marathon course, runners wound their way through iconic parts of the city, like Pall Mall, Westminster and the Embankment. The poor weather refused to dampen spirits and everyone felt a huge surge of satisfaction arriving at the finish line. Just running with 25,000 others – all raising money for their favourite charities – was itself an uplifting experience.
Trustee Ben Galloway did all the organising and we feel so proud of every member of Team THF. We also warmly thank everyone who donated through JustGiving and via paper sponsorship forms to help raise over £6,000. Helen’s brother Tom was able to run for the first time when his schedule meant he was in London for the run this year and raised over £4,000 with the Gift Aid tax reclaimed through his many contacts.
It’s not too late to support these brilliant runners and through this, make a donation to the Foundation. How about putting some extra sponsorship on the JustGiving fundraising page of Iain Taylor, one of Helen’s special Scottish cousins who travelled all the way down from Dundee to take part this year?
