Cllr Paul Burgess of Teignmouth has launched a crowd-funding appeal to set up a pop-up open air cinema for 2 days in June this year.
“Open air cinema is a fantastic way to watch films but can be expensive for families – typical costs can be £20 per person! We want to make it affordable to the people of Teignmouth.
We will show 2 big screen films on a huge outdoor cinema screen in the grounds of Teignmouth Rugby Club. This will be the first time this has been done and will be a fun filled evening.
We also will be giving local young film makers, youth groups and schools the opportunity to screen one of their “short” films on the big screen!
The charity benefiting from the project is The Helen Foundation + the Mayor’s Charity Fund (which will be to help local people).
We want to make this a fun event for all. We welcome people bringing their own picnic food and snacks plus a blanket/chair to sit on. Alcohol will be available via the Rugby Club which will also be offering a variety of delicious eats.
Please could you make a pledge and support this project? By making a small pledge you will receive tickets to both cinema nights. The deadline for crowd-funding pledges is midnight on Friday 10th February.
“Very best of luck with your project, Paul!
