The Greeks and the Olympics at Our Lady and St Patrick

May 15, 2012

Lisa Anzani, Class 6 Teaching Assistant at Our Lady and St Patrick’s School wrote recently following a school workshop sponsored by THF:
“I just wanted to let you know that our year 5 and 6 had a wonderful day last week with Peter Kyrke Smith and Kate from DAISI. We all enjoyed a day of music and dance, acting and performing sections of a play based on the Greek Gods and the Olympics. Thank you so much for your support as without your help and funding we would not have been able to experience this workshop.”

Here are a few of the comments the pupils made.
“It was absolutely amazing’ ‘Can we do the whole play next time?’ ‘It was great, funny and exciting.’ ‘Can they come back again soon?”I enjoyed being a spartan and being mean and grumpy!”

Peter Kyrke-Smith, the artistic director of the day, wrote afterwards to THF to say:

“We had a BRILLIANT day! Both groups were SO enthusiastic, creative, friendly, happy to have a go at everything, learned songs so quickly, worked really hard, and seemed to have a great time with it all. We did 2-3 scenes and songs from my latest fun Musical In A Day for schools, Greece Lightning! – which has been going down really well with schools, and getting lots of bookings, with its Ancient Greek/Olympic theme.

So yes, an EXCELLENT day! And THANK YOU to the Foundation for your support and help in enabling it to happen.”
