The Tin Shed Studio (TTSS) is the beautiful studio of artist Mei Lim, in Ringmore, Shaldon. Each year, artists across Devon are invited to open their studios to visitors in the Devon Open Studios event in September. Mei Lim shared her studio with seven other artists to present a quite outstanding exhibition (including flags and banners, photography, sculpture, painting, ceramics, felt-work, books and electronic installations – and much more) that invited comparison with the very best in the county. The artists involved at the TTSS this year were: Mei Lim, Bridget Arnold, Angela Holmes, Peet Leather, Helen Sargent, Shan Ford, Sally Anderson, Cheryl Watson and Ben Yates. The first four artists are members of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen.
As part of their venture, the artists agreed to serve delicious refreshments – home-make cakes and biscuits, tea and soft drinks – and donated the proceeds to The Helen Foundation, raising an amazing £326, the highest amount from refreshment donations we can ever recall! Thank you so much also to cake makers: Helen, Geoff and Carol.
Huge thanks to all at TTSS and to everyone who came and enjoyed the superb exhibition – and the refreshments! – and contributed to THF.
TTSS will also be organising a Christmas sale to support THF on 21-23 November – more details soon.
