Helen Sargent is never one to duck a challenge and when she sets her mind to achieving her goals, nothing stops her. This time it was to take part in the 10K open water swim in the River Dart – and she made it! Helen has a page on Just Giving, that remains live for donations to THF, if you feel inspired, as we do!
Helen writes: “I am a piano teacher with a strong passion for swimming outdoors, and in my spare time I make pots: what better than to combine these and raise money for children and young people within the Arts.
Living in Devon we are spoilt for fantastic locations for both swimming and walking, and I am very lucky to have a wonderful group of musical children who want to learn the piano!
One of the primary schools in Devon where I teach is where Helen Kirk went to school and although I didn’t know her it is so inspiring to have such an active and inspiring local charity such as her life represents. The Dart 10K is a hugely popular swim, and this year sold out within a couple of hours; it is a huge challenge for everyone, not just for me, and I am giving it my all hoping to raise as much cash as possible for the Helen Foundation.”
Helen says she would like to thank very much all those who donated to her fund-raising – some of them completely unknown to her.
Really well done Helen! You are an inspiration to us all! Thank you so much – an amazing achievement.
No sooner had we heard that she had completed yet another London 10K run, as we reported last month, Debbie Clark wrote to us following her participation in the London to Windsor Bike Race, benefiting THF!
Debbie Clark is a superstar! Thank you so much!
