Anne Smyth has a wide range of artistic skills. One of them is glass making and she is quite prepared to work with primary age children. Exminster School used a THF subsidy to engage Anne to work with their children in producing a range of fused glass pendants that were planned to go on sale, as part of a wider fund-raising enterprise venture in the school.
The children first of all designed the pendants using collage, with boats as a theme. Anne used the influences of St Ives artists and Matisse as a visual reference. Stunning results!
They were a sell-out, as you can imagine.
