Michelle Greenwood-Brown, artist, spent 2 days with pupils at OLSP, helping them design and create mosaics to be displayed outside the school.
Previously there had been a Hinduism and Arts week at the school, part-sponsored by The Helen Foundation, and this had provided the inspiration for the designs.
The ceramic tiles were cut by pupils under Michelle’s guidance to ensure safety. When supplies of a specific colour ran out, their colleagues quickly cut more and some of these in turn were passed to another group when they had run out.
So, a mosaic and team-building skills workshop!
Kristina Webber, teacher and Kerry Andrews, teaching assistant, said how much they all enjoyed themselves. We asked if all those who were enjoying the day would put their hands up and everyone of them did so!
Kerry added that the previous day her son had taken part in the workshop and that when he came home he enjoyed it so much “he was full of it!”
She said, “The Helen Foundation do so much for the children, it’s wonderful!”
